Owens Custom Rugs has been a fixture in the Vero Beach community since 1978, when Bill Owens opened the original shop in a warehouse with a clear vision: offer quality, craftsmanship, and personalized service in covering your floors. Nearly 50 years later, that same spirit drives everything we do – just with a few more textures, a few more patterns and a few extra flooring options on the shelves.
In 2016, Jonathan and Niki took the reins, bringing a fresh perspective to a time honored local business. After years on the road as a sales rep for some manufacturers in the industry, Jonathan was ready to put sown some roots and build something of his own. With a deep knowledge of flooring materials and high-end goods, his passion lies in educating clients – matching the right product for their home, lifestyle, and their vision. Niki, meanwhile, left a successful career in the salon industry to the craft from the ground up What started as a leap of faith has grown into a thriving partnership – and today, with two separate locations, Niki runs one showroom while Jonathan manages the other.
We’re known for sourcing the most current designs, sophisticated materials, sustainable choices, and unique finds you won’t see everywhere else. And yet, we’ve never lost sight of our roots. Others fall into what we call our instant gratification rugs - beautiful pre-made styles we can tailor to fit your space with a quicker turnaround time.
